In the brisk October morning air of autumn, I embarked on a photographic journey along the Ice Age Trail at the Iola Winter Sports Club in Waupaca County. The trail, under the care of dedicated IAT volunteers, had undergone a transformation in the Summer of 2023. As clouds painted the sky a blueish grey, I focused my lens on the newly built boardwalk that gracefully wound its way on the side of a small marsh area. The serenity of the scene was enhanced by the vibrant foliage, creating a tapestry of colors, and two Sandhill Cranes calling out. With each step I took, I thoroughly enjoyed the collective efforts of those who had improved this segment, making it delightful for hikers.
After dedicating five decades to print publishing and photojournalism, primarily in newspapers, I've embarked on a captivating journey to capture the vibrancy of Wisconsin's nature and the enchanting beauty of its woodlands and prairies through the lens of fine art photography and paintography. Through my work, I aim to narrate the stories of what I see and experience during my photographic endeavors.
