Artist's Description
Many barns in Wisconsin have "barn quilts" hung at the peak of roofs. This one has an American Eagle – native to Wisconsin – on a flag field. The lower building at right also sports a US flag. The blue sheet metal roofs and the red and white barn paint emphasize the patriotic colors of the flag. Even the darker clouds carry a bluer tinge. The image also has a contrast of geometric shapes with the rectangular cornfield and roof at left to the triangular roof lines at right. Fall along the backroads of Iola, Wisconsin, presents many opportunities for a photographer. I waited a couple of years to get this at the right time with the right conditions.
